The LFP Office announced today that the Classico will be played on Friday, November 20th. The original Ligue 1 game that weekend against Sochaux has been pushed back until Wednesday, 12/2. If necessary, OM can request that the Sochaux match be rescheduled for a later date (since they will be preparing to play Real).

BRONX, NY – Cliff Lee was so superb he struck out Alex Rodriguez three times, Mark Teixeira want hitless in four at bats, and the lower part of the New York Yankees batting order could do nothing as Robinson Cano, Nick Swisher and Melky Cabrera went a combined 0-for-9. The Yankees with CC Sabathia on the mound lost their first postseason game in the Bronx and more importantly the Phillies took the first game of the World Series 6-1.

The talk all around the National Basketball Association as the current season begins has been the plethora of teams who are merely looking to go through the motions in anticipation of the free agent class coming up in the summer. It is almost as if this – and in some cases – last season were mere inconveniences as general managers were only concerned with clearing salary cap space. With names such as LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and Joe Johnson becoming available, GM’s are salivating at the prospect of one or more than these players inking long-term deals with their respective clubs.

AZ Alkmaar needed extra time to take distance from amateur side Spakenburg in the Dutch Cup, while PSV Eindhoven advanced after an away win at Roda JC.Defending league champions AZ had an extremely difficult time in their homematch with Spakenburg, who took an early lead through Thijs Houwing.It took until the 51st minute for substitute Pontus Wernbloom to equalize, after which Stijn Schaars made it 2-1 in minute 76. Against all expectations however, Christy Bonevacio leveled late on to force extra time.But in extra time, AZ clearly had more energy than their opponents.

Till some years back I’d thought there was nothing that could put me off cricket. I still stick by it, but there are some notable upstarts who will go to great lengths to make you hate the game.1. Live telecast of India’s matches: My last hope for preserving the last and first balls of overs on live TV were ESPN-Star. They did a good job of it, but didn’t mind one bit cutting their own commentators off almost before the ball went dead.

I t was very painful to accept the fact that India lost to Pakistan in the Champions Trophy . As the Indians mourned, one could see that the Indian skipper did not look as confident as he generally is in the remaining matches. Losing Yuvi due to injury was a big blow before the match. The bowling looked lack luster. Ishant and Bhajji were the shadows of themselves. The Pakistani middle order took full toll of the poor Indian bowling. Not having Zahir and Sehwag also turned out to be crucial.

International Cricket Council, the parent body of world cricket, has reportedly described the media reports on Simon Taufel offering apologies to Pakistan player Umar Akmal, as incorrect. The report stated that Taufel, one of the most respected umpires of present day cricket, apologized to Akmal in relation to offering a wrong verdict pronouncing him out. The incident took place in the semi-final match of Champions Trophy against New Zealand. One of the ICC spokesman reportedly stated that, that report was incorrect.

I was born in Philadelphia on the Main line in the winter of 1981. It was an unusually warm winter. The year prior to my birth, they had earned their first National League pennant in 30 years. The Philadelphia Eagles had also won the NFC championship in 1980, to go on to the Superbowl, which they lost. The same thing happened in 2004, while I was still living there. The Philadelphia Flyers won the Stanley cup 2 years in a row, about 6 years before I was born.

It is a tad bit silly to call Matt Barkley a Heisman candidate at this point. LOS ANGELES – Being a freshman USC student, I personally like our starting quarterback Matt Barkley just as much as the guy rooming down the hall from me. In all reality, I believe that number seven has the potential to become arguably the greatest quarterback in school history and eventually fulfill Mel Kiper Jr.’s prophecy of becoming the number one overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Most teams look forward to April and beyond for their most meaningful games. The Islanders, on the other hand, play Game 1 of their annual six-game “playoff” against the Rangers tonight. It’s not a stretch to say that these rivalry games can save a season, particularly for a subpar team. For example, the Rangers didn’t make the playoffs in 2003-04, but did beat the Islanders six times in six games.

This game reminded many of the 2005 contest between USC and Fresno State, which the Trojans finally pulled out 50-42 on some last quarter heroics by Reggie Bush, the 2005 Heisman Trophy winner. Tonight, it was the running of Allen Bradford with 147 yards and two TDs and Joe McKnight with 65 yards that saved the Trojans Pac-10 title hopes. But even their running and Matt Barkley’s passing could not make up for a horrible defensive performance that will no doubt knock the Trojans down a couple of spots in the new BCS standings.

There are six Barça players on the list : Thierry Henry , Andrés Iniesta , Xavi Hernández, Touré Yayá , Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Leo Messi . How good is Cricket in a suburban mid-sized town like Spokane, WA? They have an excellent $35 plan that looks really appealing, but I’ve heard from local cellphone “experts” (who happen to be Verizon fanatics) that the service is absolutely horrible, and to go with T-Mobile instead. Although cricket is not violent there are many verbal arguments that take place that aren’t really publicised. Many players say things to the opposing team and escape without any punishment. Some may think the red card concept may not be useful for cricket as the conflicts that occur aren’t very serious but the public does not know what happens behind the scenes. Or perhaps cricket fans enjoy watching a little bit of a stir witht the other team? What is your opinion?

Grannies – sweet old ladies with their seemingly-odd mannerisms and unending love – all of us adore them! They mean a lot to us! Despite the entire hubbub about lack of respect/care given to the aged, grannies/grandpas enjoy a special status at most homes. Unlike what they show in the movies/TV shows et al, we don’t show the door to our grandparents, as far as I know.

Collingwood, 33, was due to play for his Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Daredevils in the two-week club tournament, which starts on Thursday, reports The Independent.
