Can I Use A Motorola Phone For Cricket Service?

7 February 2010 3 Comments

I have on old motorola v330, and my boyfriends phone is falling apart. The thing is, I had t-mobile service with it, and he has cricket, so I was wondering if it was possible for him to get a new sim card, and use my phone with his service.

No. It will not work. T-Mobile’s phones and network are GSM, which requires sim cards in order to work. Cricket’s phones and network are CDMA, which doesn’t use sim cards. They are two completely different technologies and are not compatible with each other.

I think you can use any phone.

You would have to get the phone unlocked first before using a different provider
