Can Twenty20 Cricket Give World Soccer A Run For Its Money ?

After Twenty20 players were purchased for millions in India lately, can this form of cricket MATCH the global popularity of soccer one day, say ten years from now ?

Any form of short games will be popular and it all depends on
how the marketing is done specially in western world. Assuming
the administrators can sell it and have made a good game and
a reputable one, then we can have something close to soccer,
but definitely not a run for the money. Old habits die hard and
hence soccer is the worlds most watched, followed and viewed
sport. It will take generations for any change to happen.
Maybe in 60 years time, and if most of the countries in the world start playing it now.
Cricket is more than ten years away from going Global and I dont see many new countries taking the game up.
Hey,
Soccer is no comparison to Cricket.
Even Manchester United makes more money than Team India.
Soccer is an international game recogonised by the whole world, but cricket is a bit too complicated for people who are not into it.
Soccer can never be at risk by any sport and not even cricket!!!!!
Football is much better than Cricket game.
Maybe. At least people can spend some time to go see the glamour part too.
Choicest players from across the World together.
honestly, no chance, soccor is played in every country in the world (just about) whereas cricket is only really followed in the former british colonies whic limits the market considerably
Soccer is an overrated game. Loved by the masses and fairly skilful but all they do is dribble the ball up and dribble the ball down and you might get to see a goal.
And the players lie on the ground like girls at the slightest knock. I hate that.
yeh,it already did in my dreams…and i grew to be 500 years old too.(in my dream that is)
Unfortunatly i can not see it taking off to become as big as soccer.
The only countries that play are ex British colonies and they didn’t get everywhere in the world. And besides, it goes on to long.
no
Soccer is way bigger than cricket at this point.. and i think forever..many countries dun even know waht cricket is.. everyone knows soccer though.. take a ball and kick it around and try to make it in the goal
Only if North American continent get involved>
heck no!!! soccer cant leave!!! soccer is better than cricket!!! duh!! every one nows that!!!
I love cricket more than football (soccer), but I hope T20 cricket never reaches the heights of football, because it is a very poor representation of real cricket…
nope, i don’t think so although cricket is my second fav sport ( rugby being my first and footie third)
