Have You Noticed How The News Media Have Mockingly Reported The Poor State Of The West Indian Cricket Ground?

19 December 2009 10 Comments

The scoffing at the admittedly poor condition of the test ground is probably the only “game”(metaphorically speaking) our cricket team will against the West Indies, or anyone else for that matter. The last positive thing we did for cricket ws invent it. With or without good grounds and facilities the West Indian team, time after time always thrash us. Isn’t that what it’s all about, winning?

THC is right, under Michael Vaughan we won just about everything, as for the West Indies, they have a poor record against England in recent years.
I don’t know if you have played cricket but there is a phrase that say’s it all …….. playing on a level field.
Perhaps a more positive attitude and support for England (especially from the media) may help with their game.

I’ve seen no evidence of “scoffing” in the media, do you have a link?
The West Indies do not “always thrash us”. If you think that inventing the game was the last positive thing England did for cricket you have a very short memory.

Not really. They would be just as dismissive of any test pitch in such a state. Someone mucked up, it should not be in that state. You can guarantee the UK sporting venues get the same treatment and certainly have done.

no i didn’t but the state of this “test match ground” was a joke in itself. All teams have their day at the moment it is the South Africans certainly not the West Indies. If you think that England are so what is your answer to the problem

Sorry but for once I am going to defend the media, the way I see it they were just reporting a fact and there was no getting away from it the pitch was a disgrace.

Since match referee Alan Hurst already sieges of the matter and as such Media should restrain themselves by jumping the thin line.

No – The West Indians and the cricket authorities should be ashamed of themselves.
