I don’t believe anyone has ever actually counted. But a House Cricket chirps continuously when looking for a mate, or when it is hungry, or when it senses danger. It’s body is sensitive to vibrations, and chirps LESS during thunder storms, etc.

It chirps about 88 times in 60 seconds with a temperature of 26.5 C. That’s 79.75 degrees Fahrenheit. But always remember that it chirps faster at higher temperatures and slower at low temps. The song of the House Cricket may become a fast trill when the temperature gets above 85 degrees Fahrenheit or so, for unknown reason.

Their number of chirps depends on the temperature–they do a certain number and are consistent.
    Check wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket_(in…
It talks about the four types of chirps they do.
