How To Make A Cricket Stop Chirping?

My bedroom is located in the basement, in the corner of my room there is a sump pump that is boxed in my drywall. Inside of that box is a cricket. I have no idea how it got in their but it’s annoying as anything. How can I get rid of it?? Fyi: I can’t open this box

Know the enemy. Crickets are nocturnal. They are attracted to light and also moisture. You’ll usually see a lot of them after rain. If they are outdoors, they’ll find nice warm and damp soil. Indoors, they are looking for something damp and warm as well.
Step 2
Locate the enemy. Instead of lying in bed, rolling every expletive term known to mankind through your head about the annoyance of the cricket, get up. Move toward the chirping sound until you have at least pinpointed the room where the beast is hiding before he gets wise to you and shuts up.
Step 3
Lure the enemy. Place a wet washcloth in the sink, kitchen or bathroom, that is closest to the cricket’s location.
Step 4
Wait the enemy out. Go back to bed. Use ear plugs or head phones or enjoy the cricket’s song, knowing that it will be his last.
Step 5
Spring the trap. Crickets can’t get around well on smooth surfaces so sinks are great places to corner them. Watch out though because they can still jump. You should find the cricket in the morning, hiding out beneath the washcloth. Have a container ready to take the enemy prisoner. Make sure you beat your spouse to the sink before he or she gets an adrenaline boosting surprise.
If you can’t get access to the space, there probably isn’t anything you can do about the cricket but wait for it to die. It will eventually do so since it probably has no source of food. We get them in our house every fall, and they never seem to last more than a day or two.
If the noise is driving you nuts, try using some kind of white noise to block it, like a running fan, or keep your radio on.
Try asking it nicely instead of banging your head against the wall and screaming!….worth a try!
well 4 1 thing u cant get cricket 2 stop chirping unless its dead. (do not kill it!!!)
kill it, wait for it to die, listen to music with headphones. etc.
