Is There Any Sport Besides Cricket Where The Condition Of The Ball Dictates Strategy/play?

I’m sure there must be something. Like tennis they change the balls after so many games. Ten pin Bowlers polish them before they bowl. I cant really think of any sport that is like cricket in this regard.

    rugby is prime example
When the ball is wet, tactics change completely. The ball is duly kicked a lot more than passed due to slippery conditions. It is harder to catch die to a lack of grip so making the opposition catch the ball puts pressure on them/.
