Simple answer is that the Indian pitch curators doctor Indias pitches to suit the Indian players. When the players go overseas where the pitches are not doctored for them, they struggle to cope with the even bounce, the ball coming on to the bat instead of going through the top of the pitch. They are so used to being given an easy road up the rankings that when they actually need to work for runs they can’t cope. That is why practically any player in a first class team in Australia could cope at the international level if the opportunity came up.

The pressure that a player puts on himself when playing at a higher level is a big issue. Some players can play their own game no matter where they are playing and perform well as a result. Others feel the pressure of playing on a bigger stage and try and play shots that are not in their repertoire or bowl too fast. This leads to their downfall.
Other players are just simply not good enough! When you play a Ranji side you will face some good bowlers and some mediocre ones too. Rarely do you face real top notch quick bowling or international standard spin. The mediocre bowlers allow you take some pressure off from time to time. When playing good international teams, the bowling is always good quality and some balls are virtually unplayable. If you are a bowler, the batsmen usually from 1 to 9 can all bat decently. They try different things to throw your line and length off and lot of players dont know how to counter that.
Wickets is also a big deal. Indians are used to play on slow and dry pitches. When some of these youngsters bat or bowl on quicker and harder pitches they find it difficult to adjust their game.

    Incompetents. Simple as that.
There’s clearly a massive difference between the quality of cricket played in “Ranji” cricket to that of International cricket.
That’s the difference here in Australia. Our domestic competition is extremely strong and competitive. The young players that do well in our domestic system don’t have that much of a jump to international level, hence why our more youthful players always seem to have an immediate impact at international level.

in ranji trophy the players with powerful links get a place , and also fake performance upon political connections . but stand exposed when faced with international arena.

May be because of more stress and nervousness as they play with players with more cleaverness and more talent.
