South African batsman AB de Villiers is to play no cricket in the next six weeks due to a back injury, ruling him out of participating in the Champions League Twenty20 in India where he had been named in the Delhi Daredevils’ squad. De Villiers has a lower back problem which he has been struggling with throughout the ICC Champions Trophy and Cricket South Africa have decided he needs to rest in order to be fit to take on England when they arrive in November.
