After maintaining a tough stand for close to two years, the Cricket Board on Wednesday lifted the ban on players aligned with the rebel ICL by offering a surprise “amnesty” which will make them eligible to play for the country again after a cooling period of one year. The Indian Cricket League players have been given time till May 31 to severe ties with the Subhash Chandra-owned League, which was launched in 2007 but was not recognised by the ICC or the BCCI.

Andrew Flintoff has penned a guarantee of availability for all one-day international cricket for England for the next 12 months. Concerns about his commitment surfaced after he refused the incremental deal offered by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Managing director of England Cricket, Hugh Morris, asked for a written guarantee and Flintoff obliged. “Playing for England is the ultimate and my main focus,” Flintoff said.

The Blushing Season Less than a month of summer exists in Oregon, and as Fall nears, I find myself contemplating the pleasures of cooler weather.  I’m one of those rare birds that luxuriate in rain, wind and snow; I look forward to bundling up in a heavy coat and fuzzy gloves to make a quick trip to the grocery store. The only problem is, with the cold weather comes indoor heating; something that my Rosacea skin detests. Indoor heating can cause my skin to flush bright, stinging red, for many hours.

Don’t you think the organisors or IPL should have behaved in a more diligent way? Why is the BJP making a fuss over that? Aren’t they playing cheap politics? Do they believe that every [...] Related posts: If A Left Supported Government Comes To Power In Next General Elections Is It Likely To Scrap The Nuclear Deal?

Q&A With Stani Army & MTJAGstaniarmy.com

Stani Army was recently approached by the guys at MTJAG, who are avid Indian fans, to take part in a question and answer exchange. They asked if I would ask them questions on Indian cricket for which they would provide answers for, and they would in turn do the same on the subject of Pakistan cricket for which I would provide the answers. We had hoped to have it done and posted on the respective sites before the India v Pakistan game but …errm, just like the governments of the two countries we had a few communication problems but obviously not of the same nature, thankfully.

Australian Cricketers’ Association boss Paul Marsh believes more players could follow Andrew Flintoff’s lead into freelance status unless boards offer less restrictive contracts. Flintoff recently rejected a contract from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) so he could instead compete in various Twenty20 competitions around the world without being bound to his country. The England allrounder’s decision has come under heavy criticism from those who feel he has put Indian Premier League dollars ahead of his country.
