RUGBY Thornfield’s 14-year-old Craig Carter won Warwickshire’s under-25s indoor singles championship with a two sets to nil victory over clubmate Chris Allen. The closing stages of the event were played at Thornfield under the best of two sets format – each of nine ends – and in the case of a 1-1 draw by a three-ends play-off. After the first two ends of the final had resulted in a single to Carter and a double to Allen the following six ends all went to Carter when he weighed in with one treble, two doubles and three singles to seal an 11-2 win.
