How to get rough and shiny side in tennis ball for cricket?
Q&A »
We observe on TV that when the cricket bat strikes the incoming or outgoing ball there is a small but clearly audible thud. If it is ordinary sound not assisted by electronics and radio only the player nearby will hear it. But we sitting thousand miles away before the TV hear it. Same thing when tennis ball is hit by Mr. Federer or any player playing in those modern courts. Not that it is not difficult to make such things work.I ask only out of curiosity.

In many games like cricket, golf, tennis and baseball, we notice that a spinning ball deviates from its parabolic trajectory as it moves through air.
I know that this deviation can be partly explained on the basis of Bernoulli’s principle, I already have text regarding this topic, I was just wondering if someone could explain the phenomenon in simpler words.
Thank you very much.
