What Kind Of Coverage Do You Get With Cricket Phone Plans?

My fam has at&t now, and the rents won’t get me unlimited because of the cost(it is really expensive). but i looked at cricket and you can get great features like unlimited call+text for $60 a month, but I really like my at&t cuz it gets really good coverage where others get little to none. There has to be a downside to cricket and I think that coverage might be it, since its a relatively small company.
So whats the deal with it?
It pretty much just covers major cities, their website shows their nationwide coverage areas if you want something more specific.
