    It was Cottari Kanakaiya “CK” Nayudu in 1932 when India made it’s test match debut.
    And India played its first ODI in 1974 under the captaincy of Ajit Wadekar.

    It was C K Nayudu for the test match,he was also the wisden player of the year,he was very famous for hitting sixes,he even played the first class cricket for 47 years,scored his career best at the age of 51.

    C.K. Nayudu was the first Cricket Captain for India in Test Cricket. He Captained Indian team in 4 Test Matches against England during the years 1932 to 1934. India lost 3 matches and drawn 1 match.
    Ajit Wadekar was the first Captain of Indian One Day International Team. Under his captaincy India played 7 One’Day Internationals in 1974. India won one match and lost 6 matches.
