Why Did The Indian Cricket Team Lost The Final Odi Cricket Match Against The Srilankan Cricket Team?

Indians celebrated the recent series victory. Srilankan cricket team won the series against India for 10 years 1998 to 2007 whereas Indian cricket team winning couple of days before was celebrated as though Indian cricket team won for 25 years against the Sri Lankan cricket team.

It seems that they did not care to win the last match. I mean losing 6 to 7 wickets in under 30 runs is ridiculous. Before the rain stopped play it looked like it was just a matter of time before we would win our 4th match. It’s almost as if we just threw the match away.
It was obvious. The series was already in the bag, so they lowered their intensity just a bit, and Sri Lanka, desperate for some honor, took advantage of that for a consolation win.
However, you have to remember something. When it comes to Sri Lankan successes, most have come on home grounds. And even there, their edge is slipping. They lost to England in a series in October! India doesn’t have the best away record, but they are probably a better all around team.
Well after the test team lost to SL we thought the ODI team will compensate
well tht happened, but the last match was so pathetic to watch
though INDIA had the series in their back pack they could have wrapped up the series 4-1…but no tht’s never goin to happen

and tht’s wat they did in the last ODI……….i don’t feel bad for the ODI TEAM. I mean come on when the test team can be so humble and down to earth,, the youngsters think that they are kings of the world

Result could have been a totally different one had SL won the toss in the 2,3,4 matches. I don’t want to say that India won the match because of the toss but winning the toss and deciding to bat first in three games (when the pitches were supporting teams that batted first) gave India an advantage that was greater than having 16 players in their team against Sri Lanka.
They ran out of luck.

They lost because of the batting collapse.At night in Srilanka,It’s always a difficult task chasing especially against the likes of ajantha mendis.Kulasekara and mendis bowled splendidly to bowl out team india.Bowlers did a decent job but the middle order didn’t live to the expectations.
1.Losing the toss.
2.Not applying enough pressure when Thushara and Mubarak were batting.Munaf Patel the most economical was given only 7 overs.After his initial spell of 6 overs he was remembered only after the 49th over.
With Yuvraj so suspect against Mendis India had only 5 batsmen to score those runs.
Overconfidence has always been problem with team India.
Your question is just ‘one of’ the examples of it.
After Asia cup, Anil Kumbale ensured that , team India can tackle Mendis…..but failed..& we lost the test series…there are still many……

how many series SL won in India in last 10 years or rather how many series SL won in any other country except SL in last 10 years??
