Indians have a perception that Australia is a racist country. Certainly, the media have reprted a couple of assaults of Indian students lately and this seems to have built into a bit of a frenzy.
I don’t know where this comes from – we don’t have race riots like many European countries or the USA. They get a bit upset because we always beat them at cricket and Australians would be frustrated with the number of phonecalls they get from callcentres in Mumbai. Thats small picture stuff – the big issue is that Indians are jealous of the Australian culture and way of life and thats why so many of them want to live or study in Australia.
I think the Indians in Australia need to open their eyes a bit and realise how lucky they are to be able to spend some time in the best country in the world.

well when it comes to sports, you always pick the team you are on. im indian, but i live in California, US and i dont even understand how you play cricket. but since you asked this question, i guess they are always against each other.
but i read this book once (i am a fiction book worm) and it took place in australia and it was about how these australian people were so racial to other ethnicities.
Edit: okay i think it is username “SHAKAL” thats being such and idiot. i just saw his question about the Corruption after i answered your question.
i wonder what they post in the cricket section :)

Its because of animals like Wayne Kerr, fake Tournesol, Mr OK aka Troll Buster & fake Bill P, MBTM aka !OZ! & aunz, Femme and a real computer transmitted disease called G I the man. All these low lifes are the main cause of racial tensions in this forum. I am in the mix but never ever fling the initial mud.
No GI the man lol, I am in a great mood but the truth is clear, your a dog. Every Australian in this forum knows this and also knows that you are not Australian as you claim.

No we get along fine Alex it’s just Shakal who continually posts inappropriate questions in the cricket section. I think Shakal is upset over the perceived (ie almost non existent) anti Indian racism in Australia and this is his way of venting. He’s entitled to his opinion.
    ****EDIT****
I see that YA! has now deleted Shakal’s stupid and racist questions. Good.

    These are the reasons:
    1) Aussies started their insults first to which we replied strongly.
    2) Aussies attack foreigners (includes indians, chineese & many more) and steal money from them.
    3) Aussies are racist

Lot of that is just media hype to get more publicity and rise interests among people for the upcomming Ind-Aus series.

I hope the rivalry doesn’t get to such an extend where the eyes don’t look like my avatar.
